Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation,
be constant in prayer
(Romans 12:12, ESV)

Joey’s journey began on December 27, 2007 when our son, then 2 years old was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma. After five rounds of chemotherapy, 2 tumor resections, radiation and eight rounds of 3f8 immunotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), Joey remained without evidence of disease for nearly 2 ½ years.  He has remained under the watchful care of his doctors at MSKCC in New York City and Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, undergoing quarterly scans in an effort to catch recurring disease in a timely manner.

Then on September 22, 2010 we learned that Joey relapsed.  He has just completed his first of 4 rounds of chemotherapy at Levine Children’s Hospital and will begin travels to and from MSKCC for future surgery and on-going treatments in an effort to rid his body of this terrible disease.

Thank you for coming alongside us on this journey.  Our hearts are encouraged by your faithful, generous spirit….To read more about Joey’s story of faith, trust and love please visit Joey’s caringbridge page:  www.caringbridge.org/visit/joeyaquaro

With hope and gratitude,
Matt and Maggie Aquaro
